Step Right Up, You're the next contestant!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketLast week I saw that Rocks in My Dryer was hosting a "Contest Carnival" of sorts. I planned to get it together and join in the fun but with my sewing machine in the shop and trying to catch up after the craziness of last week I am just now getting around to it. So here I am....

This is how it works. I am giving away a 5X7 hand stamped scrapbook. If you would like to be entered into my contest just leave me a comment telling me the coolest thing you ever saw that someone made themselves. I will draw a name on Monday at 8 A.M. So you have until then. You should check out some of the other contests (although some end tonight) - there are 647 other give aways as of right now. GO HERE to see the other participants!

The coolest thing I have received that was handmade was this fox papier mache string dispenser my mom made one Christmas. The "eyeglasses" are scissors for the string. Mom got motivated and made about half a dozen of these for me and her siblings!

http://tinyurl.com/26la6s

Of course, I've seen more time- and work-intensive projects than this (like the designer-copy wedding dress my friend's mom made her), but this is the coolest handmade gift I've received.

I'd love a chance to win your handstamped scrapbook. I love scrapbooking, and your book would have a good home here. :-)

That is so beautiful!

The coolest thing that I saw that was handmade...there are so many things. I think that it would have to be a silver ring that my friend made in a jewelry class, a portrait drawing that my hubby did (before I knew him), and a place setting for 8 that someone made in a pottery class that I took in collage (I was a biology major, but chose to take pottery as my art elective!). There are many more things, but those are the things that come to mind.

I really like what you did with the stamps on the scrapbook. I am just getting into stamping (making my own baby announcements) and I find that it is a little hard to come up with ideas! I have to decide on it tonight though b/c I want to make mass quantities of them tomorrow (baby not due until Jan 2nd)

Thank you for the chance to win!

Beautiful! Well, I don't consider myself very artsy but I've seen some amazing pottery and my brother in-law has done a couple of awesome inlaid wood tables!

Hmm...my mom made her own wedding dress, it was soo beautiful!

Well, I think the coolest thing that someone ever made was a T-Shirt that my sister painted for me for Christmas.

I was 8 years old, and crazy about horses. She drew a horses head on the T-Shirt, and used ribbon for the halter, and gold beads for the chain lead. It was beautiful! It looked like she used an air brush, but she didn't. She just used regular paint brushes. I wish I still had that T-Shirt. :( Don't know where it ended up.

Thanks for this contest. The album is gorgeous!

Your giveaway is beautiful! The most beautiful thing someone ever handcrafted that I saw was: a gorgeous amethyst tumbled stone bracelet and earring set that a kind woman made me as a thank you gift for passing clothes on to her through Freecycle. Please enter me in the drawing, I'd love to win! Thank you.

I would love to win! Please enter me in your giveaway. Thanx! My email is in my profile.

The coolest thing that I've ever seen made was a skirt a girl I new in college had thrown together. It was soo cool, I made one too. I actually got married on the beach in that skirt! lol

If you visit my blog and look near the beginning of October, there is a post entitled "Happy Anniversary to Us!". In the post, I'm wearing the skirt I made.

The most beautiful thing I have ever seen that someone made (and gave to me) was a beautiful circus clown and animal 3-D quilt. I got it for my baby shower and I absolutely think it is one of the neatest things I have ever seen. My girls love it too (although, I don't allow them to be unattended with it!)

I love your scrapbook too--and would love to win!

The coolest thing was a set of little red riding hood paper mache puppets my mom made and then used in shows at our school when my sisters and I were growing up

one of my favorite things is a recipe tin decoupaged in racy magazine cut outs and the heads of chickens. it's just so random and not very martha at all. i mean, if someone were to decorate a recipe tin, you imagine it would be with pictures of lilacs and inspirational quotes. this is much better.

I've seen so many beautiful things that people have made but I think some of the prettiest have been handmade cards. I love the unique sense a person brings to them when they personalize them.

The most amazing hand-made item I've seen (of course I'm biased) is an armoire that my husband made for me. I had seen one I liked a lot at Pottery Barn & he measured it & made me one. It is beautiful & a treasure. :o)

Thanks for the chance to win...

The coolest thing I have ever seen handmade... hmm... there was a lady I was interning with in college who made her daughter wedding dress (it looked like a designer dress, I'm talking Vera Wang. Simply amazing) and she made her wedding cake, AND all the food for a 300 person reception. It was amazing... that is not even what she does for a living!

When my mom was about 12, her sister got married. My mom was asked to be a bridesmaid, but she was very small for her age. Luckily for her, my grandmother is an expert seamstress, and made a dress identical to the bridesmaid dresses. I have seen both dresses in person, and you really can't tell them apart. I think that's pretty cool.

Coolest thing I have ever seen that was handmade was a quilt made for a young gal with inoperable cancer. Her friends and family all made squares with words of encouragement and love and her mother pieced it together. Truely a labor of love.

Your scrapbook is beatiful! Thank you for a chance to win.

The coolest handmade thing I've ever seen...Well, that's hard. I'm in awe of people who can paint or draw...I have seen some really beautiful quilts...and someday I'd love to be able to afford a set of hand blown wine glasses. Then there are the little things...my son made a pretty adorable Christmas ornament for me last year and I treasure it...

the coolest handmade thing?

My hubby made a sewing machine cabinet for me - for Christmas our 2nd year of marriage - it had the "Wagner Wobble" because he and his buddy (last name Wagner, of course) had made it together - and at THAT time (nearly 40 years ago now) EVERYTHING he made had a wobble - no matter how many times he trimmed and measured and trimmed again. ;)
